Local, natural hair care product line targets hot Hollywood moms at this year’s Boom Boom Room event

DANU, a natural hair care line safer for people and the environment, will be a featured vendor at this year’s “Boom Boom Room Pre-Golden Globe Awards Baby & Big Kid Wonderland Villa” held in Beverly Hills, California. The famed “Boom Boom Room” event held January 15th and 16th this year, is a posh gifting lounge attended by A-List celebrities and media two days prior to Golden Globe Awards also held in Los Angeles.
The Boom Boom Room is said to be the number one gifting suite attended during the Golden Globe event—one that celbs actually line up to get in, which is unheard of in Hollywood.
At the Boom Boom Room event, DANU intends to gift celebs with VIP packages including their shampoos, conditioners and Multitasker Leave-In Conditioner and some Trial size bundles. The company hopes to get the attention of some key people who the DANU creators say the product was basically created around.
DANU founder Jessica McCoy noted, “we set out to create a top-performing product line for the hard-working and often “rockin’” moms whose lives are constantly in flux but who want to look their best all the time. I can’t think of a better embodiment of those dimensions than these Hollywood moms.”
Celebs who have lined up to connect with the hottest new products for moms, dads and kids at the Boom Boom Room in the past included the likes of Halle Berry, Patrick Dempsey, Samantha Harris, Courtney Cox, Brooke Shields, Vanessa Williams and Denise Richards and is heavily covered by press and media, featured in publications People Magazine, Us Weekly and InStyle, and featured on TV’s Entertainment Tonight, Insider and Access Hollywood.
DANU’s founders Jessica McCoy and Tiffany Moll are excited about this giant step forward for the company. “We are astounded by how quickly the DANU products have been embraced by our customers,” said McCoy. “We released the DANU line less than a year ago and, in a very short time, have become recognized as this national brand that has legs.”

This growing national recognition comes as a surprise to the company who has spent the last year steadily growing its product line locally and regionally with the support of local salons who were willing to take a chance on a new, unproven product that was highly targeted to young, hot mammas.
“Initially I was drawn to the organic nature of the DANU products,” says Laurie Gullo, owner of Elle Salon in Camp Hill. “Since their launch in August, we’ve reordered product from DANU three or four times because it is incredibly effective too and has been selling well. Our customers love that the Multitasker can be used on hair and skin alike and we even had one client that said Mother Fluffer, helped her get through and emotional time of hair loss by giving her the much needed body and bounce! We’re proud to support a local startup doing something big.”
DANU expects to expand their now five-product line in 2010, adding 2 new products.
Locally, DANU will be a featured vendor at the Central PA Women’s Weekend Away being held Saturday & Sunday, March 20th & 21st
at the Hilton Hotel, Whitaker Center & Strawberry Square (these buildings are all connected). A projected 7,000 – 10,000 women are expected to attend the event sponsored by Pinnacle Health for the past 20 years and now being combined with Journal Publication’s Central PA Women’s Show to offer various health and informative seminars, over 200 vendors selling everything from clothing, jewelry, food, home décor, gifts, and who will be entertained later in the evening.

DANU Mothers Day 2009—an appropriate day to launch the mother of all hair care products
It’s been a long time comin’, but break out the champagne—we have arrived. As a new player in the hair care arena, we’re hopeful that we can do some real good. We’ve been working really hard to ensure DANU hair care products fit some truly defining characteristics in order to meet our (and ultimately your) satisfaction.
For one, unlike a ton of other leading products out there (and we know because we have been in the salon biz for a decade or more) we’ve put a lot of thought into personal and ecological safety. The salon industry can be a caustic trade replete with chemical-heavy solutions, dyes and other nasty stuff that goes in your hair and also runs down the drain. DANU hair care products have been specially formulated AROUND all that stuff and we worked tirelessly to find natural substitutes to do the same job that harmful chemicals once did. As a bonus, the end products resulted in sulfate-free, paraben-free and dye-free shampoos, conditioners and extras that performed (according to our trials) better than peoples’ favorite products. I don’t know about you, but for a first try, that’s not too shabby.
As mothers ourselves (happy Mothers Day), we also paid special attention to how DANU hair care products fit your lifestyle. We figured that, even if you’re not a mom, gals these days are running around and doing a ton of stuff that leaves little time for them all too often. But you still want to look and feel good, and you have to be able to do it within your budget. We created truly top-of-the-line DANU products with this in mind. Our luscious botanical and fruity scents to the way our shampoos lather, even down to the packaging, we spent a great deal of time getting it right based on what you told us you needed.
